Steven J. Spiro
Steven began his insurance career as a Field Representative for the Guardian Life Insurance Company in 1979 and attained both his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. He later joined Spiro Risk Management, Inc. and remained there for almost 30 years until the establishment of The Excelsior Group, Inc. In addition to managing the agency, he spends much of his time developing Financial Service and Employee Benefit programs.
Steven has served on the National Board of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association of America as well as their Healthcare Task Force and Professional Liability Committees. He is a Past President of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association of New York and a past Governor of the New York District of Key Club International. In addition to offering testimony on insurance issues on numerous occasions both in New York State and before Congress, he has been honored with many awards of distinction by the insurance industry at the local and state levels. In addition, he currently serves as President of the Five Towns Community Chest and on the Board of Trustees of Temple Beth El in Cedarhurst.
